Queue window is missing

Diagnose and recover when queue window is missing needs attention.

Queue and schedule flows need defined posting windows and queue slots. When those are missing or too narrow, Slash Social cannot place a post in the queue or rejects a time you pick. Interactive planning is available on Free, Starter, Team, and Scale plans, but gap-filling suggestions require Starter or higher.

Prerequisites

You need permission to change brand settings in Settings, including cadence and queue defaults. Confirm which brand you are planning for before you edit windows or slots.

Symptoms

You see one or more of these patterns:

  • Plan or Create reports that no queue window is available.
  • Slack says the chosen time is outside posting windows.
  • The Plan calendar shows no open slots for the brand.
  • Gap-fill planning finds no empty slots in the range you requested.
  • Scheduling succeeds for one day of the week but fails for others.

Likely causes

  1. Posting windows not configured: The brand has no cadence windows for the days you are planning.
  2. Cadence intensity or slot layout: Queue slot layout does not cover the days or times you need.
  3. Timezone mismatch: Brand, account, or organization timezone does not match how the team reads the calendar.
  4. Quiet hours or blackouts: Cadence settings block the times you expect to use.
  5. Wrong brand: You are viewing or scheduling against a brand whose cadence differs from the one you edited.

Fix it

Step 1: Confirm brand and timezone

  1. Open App Home or Plan and confirm the active brand.
  2. Open Settings and note the brand timezone.
  3. Compare that timezone to how your team reads the calendar and picker labels.

Step 2: Set posting windows in Cadence

  1. Open Settings and choose Cadence.
  2. Set posting windows for each day you publish. Use the cadence wizard if your workspace offers it.
  3. Save the cadence profile and confirm Settings shows the updated windows.

Step 3: Review queue slot layout

  1. Open Settings and choose Queue Defaults.
  2. Review slot layout for the brand. Adjust slots so they cover the days and times you schedule.
  3. Save changes before you return to Plan.

Step 4: Schedule inside an allowed window

  1. Open Plan from App Home to review what is already queued.
  2. Pick a time inside an allowed window on the calendar.
  3. Schedule again. If you use weekly or daily planning assist, confirm the generated plan respects the windows you saved.

Step 5: Rerun gap-fill or planning assist

If you use gap-fill actions, rerun them after windows and slots are saved. Those flows only suggest times inside configured empty slots.

Confirm the fix

The Plan calendar or queue picker shows open slots for the brand timezone. A test post schedules without a window error. The Plan queue lists the item under scheduled or queued as expected.

Prevention

  • Set cadence windows during brand setup so new schedulers are not blocked on day one.
  • Align brand timezone with the market you publish for.
  • Review queue defaults when you add new posting days or change intensity.

Escalate

Contact support when windows and slots look correct in Settings but scheduling still fails for every time on that brand.

Include:

  • Workspace name
  • Brand name
  • Brand timezone
  • The exact message Slack shows when you schedule
  • Whether gap-fill planning, Plan calendar, and Create all show the same error
