workflow · how to
Use Plan home views
Follow the use plan home views workflow in Slack.
Goal
Use Plan home views to scan the calendar, board, queue, and next-week outlook for the active brand from one work center in Slack.
When to use this
Open Plan when you need a single place to see what is scheduled, what is waiting for review, and what is still open on the calendar. Switch views when your task changes: calendar for slot layout, board for status columns, queue for approval lists, or next-week outlook for upcoming coverage.
Return to Plan throughout the week. Slash Social remembers your last view as you move between calendar, queue, board, and schedule detail views.
Before you begin
Select an active brand in App Home. Interactive planning must be enabled for your workspace. Interactive planning is included on Free, Starter, Team, and Scale plans.
If Plan does not appear or shows an upgrade prompt, confirm interactive planning is enabled for your organization.
Steps
Open the Plan work center
- Open Slash Social App Home.
- Switch to the Plan work center.
You can also type /social, choose Plan, and pick the view you need.
Plan opens to your last selected view for the active brand. Deep links to queue or calendar land on the matching view when shared inside your workspace.
Move between Plan views
From Plan home, open the view that fits your task:
- Calendar: See slots and scheduled posts across the week.
- Board: Scan items grouped by planning status.
- Queue: Review posts waiting for action.
- Next-week outlook: Preview coverage for the upcoming week.
Switch views without leaving the Plan work center. Your selection persists when you return later in the same session or after refreshing App Home. Use board view when you want a quick status scan across the whole week.
Open a queue list from Slack
When you need a queue list outside App Home:
- Type
/socialand search for queue. - Review the default list of posts in review.
- Add a status filter when you need a narrower list. Supported filters: in review, approved, queued, and scheduled.
The default queue list shows posts in review. Each filter returns only items in that status for the active brand.
Success criteria
Plan is working correctly when:
- The Plan tab shows the same brand you selected in App Home.
- Calendar, board, and queue views list items for that brand without mixed data from other brands.
- Queue counts in Plan match the list you open from
/socialfor the same status filter. - Empty states show valid next actions instead of broken buttons.
Items you inspect should reflect real states such as planned, scheduled, queued, or blocked according to where they sit in your workflow.
Troubleshooting
Plan work center is missing or shows an upgrade prompt
Interactive planning may not be enabled. Confirm your plan includes interactive planning and that an admin has enabled the feature for your workspace.
Wrong brand appears in Plan
Select the correct brand from App Home before opening Plan. All Plan views scope to the active brand.
Queue list is empty but calendar shows items
You may be filtering to a status with no matches. Reopen the queue list with the default in-review filter or try approved, queued, or scheduled.
Invalid status filter returns an error
Only in review, approved, queued, and scheduled are valid queue filters. An invalid filter returns an error and does not change any data. Correct the filter and run the search again.
View selection resets unexpectedly
Open Plan from App Home rather than a stale deep link. Slash Social stores your last view per user and brand; switching brands resets the context to that brand last view.
Slots look wrong after cadence changes
Posting windows follow saved cadence. See Configure cadence if calendar slots do not match your expected windows.
Refresh Plan after cadence changes so the calendar and queue views use the latest saved brand settings.
