Configure cadence

Follow the configure cadence workflow in Slack.

Goal

Set cadence rules so Slash Social knows when posts may be queued and how many posts per week the brand should target. Saved cadence drives posting windows in Plan and queue scheduling.

When to use this

Use cadence configuration when you are onboarding a brand, changing how often you post, or adjusting autopilot intensity. Run through the cadence wizard for a guided first setup, then use the set-cadence form when you need to change intensity or autopilot options later.

Before you begin

Confirm you can open the Plan work center in App Home. Interactive planning must be enabled for your workspace. You need permission to change brand settings.

Interactive planning is included on Free, Starter, Team, and Scale plans. If the feature is not enabled for your workspace, the Cadence entry in Settings shows an upgrade prompt instead of the configuration modal.

Have your channel profile priorities in mind. The cadence wizard asks you to set them across multiple steps.

Steps

Open cadence settings

  1. Open Slash Social App Home and switch to Settings.
  2. Choose Cadence.

You can also complete the cadence wizard during brand onboarding when prompted.

If interactive planning is not available, Settings shows an upgrade prompt and does not open the cadence modal.

Run the cadence wizard (first-time or guided setup)

The wizard walks through channel profile priority on each screen. Work through all three steps before you submit.

  1. Answer the questions on each wizard step. Selections on step one carry forward as you continue.
  2. Use Back on any step to revise earlier answers. Answers you already saved stay in place until you change them.
  3. Submit the wizard when you finish the final step. Slash Social saves the cadence profile and closes the modal.

Set cadence intensity and autopilot

After the wizard, or anytime you need to adjust targets:

  1. Open the set-cadence form from Settings > Cadence.
  2. Choose intensity and autopilot options for your brand.
  3. Submit the form.

Slash Social computes target posts per week from the intensity and autopilot combination you selected. Missing required fields show errors in the modal and leave your saved cadence unchanged.

Confirm cadence in Plan

Open the Plan work center and review the calendar or queue view for the active brand. Posting windows and slot suggestions should reflect the cadence you saved. Compare a few days on the calendar with the intensity you set to confirm the week looks right.

Success criteria

You have finished when all of the following are true:

  • The cadence wizard or set-cadence form submitted without modal errors.
  • Target posts per week in Settings match the intensity and autopilot options you chose.
  • Plan calendar and queue views show posting windows that respect the saved cadence.
  • New slots and scheduling actions use the updated cadence profile.

Items you schedule after saving should move toward planned, scheduled, or queued states according to your queue rules. Slots that cannot be filled may show as blocked until you adjust content or cadence.

Troubleshooting

Cadence entry shows an upgrade prompt

Interactive planning is not enabled for your workspace. Confirm your plan includes interactive planning or contact your admin to enable the feature.

Modal errors when you submit

Required fields are missing or invalid. Read the inline error on the modal, fill in the missing values, and submit again. Your previous cadence settings stay in place until a successful save.

Posting windows in Plan do not match what you expect

Open Settings > Cadence and confirm intensity, autopilot, and channel profile priority. Cadence inherits brand timezone settings; see Calendars, cadence, and timezones for how windows resolve.

Slots never appear in the queue

Cadence may be saved but queue windows may still need configuration. See Queue window is missing if open slots never show up after cadence is set.

After you fix queue windows, return to Plan and compare the next week against the target posts per week.
