Slack List is missing or stale
Diagnose and recover when slack list is missing or stale needs attention.
Slack Lists are optional views of pipeline, idea, and partner deliverable records inside Slack. When a list is missing or rows lag App Home, you can still open the same work from App Home or /social while an admin repairs list provisioning.
Symptoms
You may see one or more of these patterns:
- A Pipeline, Ideas, or Partner Deliverables list never appears for the brand.
- A list existed but was deleted inside Slack and does not come back on its own.
- List rows show an old status while App Home or Workflow already reflects the current state.
- Shared Slash Social links in channels unfurl with outdated status compared to App Home.
- Provisioning seemed to finish, but no one can find the list in the posts channel.
Likely causes
- Lists were never provisioned for the brand after the feature was turned on.
- Someone deleted the list inside Slack.
- The brand posts channel is missing, so provisioning skips the brand.
- A row has not synced yet after a recent status change. Reconciliation runs on a schedule.
- Lists access is not enabled for the workspace or the app install is out of date.
Lists access must be enabled for the workspace, and the brand needs a posts channel configured.
Checks
- Open the same record from App Home or type
/socialto confirm the underlying item state is correct. - In Settings, confirm the brand has a posts channel assigned.
- Compare one item in App Home or Workflow with the same row in the Slack List, if the list exists.
- Paste a Slash Social link in the brand posts channel and check whether the unfurl shows current status.
- Ask a workspace admin whether Lists access is enabled for Slash Social in this workspace.
If App Home is correct but the list is wrong, the issue is list provisioning or sync, not the post record itself.
Fixes
- Confirm the item state in App Home or
/socialbefore changing list settings. - In Settings, assign or fix the brand posts channel if it is missing.
- Ask a workspace admin to confirm Lists access for Slash Social and refresh the install from
https://go.slashsocial.app/slack/installif Lists were recently enabled. - Wait for the scheduled reconciliation pass after status changes. Rows often catch up without manual action.
- Pin or reopen the list from the link Slash Social provides after provisioning completes.
- If a list was deleted in Slack, use the provisioning link or workflow entry for Track the social pipeline inside Slack to restore access after the posts channel and install are correct.
If rows stay wrong for more than a day after the posts channel and install are current, collect evidence and contact support.
Confirm the fix
List rows match item status in App Home or Workflow for the same brand. Shared Slash Social links in channels unfurl with current status. New status changes appear in the list after reconciliation, without conflicting values between App Home and the list.
Prevent it next time
- Set the brand posts channel before enabling Lists for the brand.
- Avoid deleting Pipeline, Ideas, or Partner Deliverables lists inside Slack. Use Slash Social links to reopen them.
- After large status changes, give reconciliation time before assuming sync failed.
- Keep the Slack app install current when Lists access is newly enabled for the workspace.
- Use App Home or
/socialas the source of truth when deciding whether a list row is stale.
Contact support
Escalate when the posts channel is set, install is current, App Home shows the correct state, and the list is still missing or consistently wrong after you waited through a reconciliation cycle.
Send support:
- Workspace name
- Brand name
- Which list: Pipeline, Ideas, or Partner Deliverables
- One item ID or title that mismatches between App Home and the list
- Approximate time the status changed
- Screenshot of the list row and the same item in App Home if possible
