Track the social pipeline inside Slack.
Follow the track the social pipeline inside slack. workflow in Slack.
Goal
Keep pipeline, approval, and idea records visible inside Slack without maintaining a separate tracker. Slack Lists hold live rows for your brand, and shared Slash Social links unfurl with current status so channel readers know what to do next.
When to use this
Use Slack Lists and link previews when:
- Creators and approvers want a shared view of posts moving through creation, review, and publish
- Approvers need a list of items waiting on decisions
- The team captures ideas linked to campaigns and owners inside Slack
- Someone shares a Slash Social URL in a channel and readers need status before opening the full workflow
Lists are optional. DMs, App Home, public slash commands, and channel cards still work when Lists are not provisioned for a brand.
Before you begin
Confirm Slash Social is installed with Lists access for your workspace. You need access to the Workflow work center for the brand you are tracking.
When Lists are enabled for your brand, Slash Social can maintain native Slack List records. Open a list from where your workspace pins it, or follow links from App Home and notifications.
If your team uses multi-step or external approval paths alongside Lists, those approval features require a Team plan or higher. Lists themselves do not replace approval configuration; they mirror pipeline-visible work for the active brand.
Steps
Open and read your Slack Lists
When Lists are enabled, Slash Social maintains records for recurring work:
- Pipeline: Posts moving through creation, review, and publish
- Approvals: Items waiting on decisions
- Ideas: Captured concepts linked to campaigns and owners
- Open the list from Slack where your workspace pins it, or follow a link from App Home or a notification.
- Scan fields such as owner, state, campaign, and platform.
- Sort or filter in Slack to focus on your queue without leaving the workspace.
Compare a list row to the same item in App Home or the Workflow work center when you need to confirm scope for the active brand.
Share links with live context
When someone pastes a Slash Social URL in a channel:
- Wait for Slack to unfurl the link.
- Read the record status and suggested next action shown in the preview, such as review, retry, or wait for publish.
- Open the full workflow from the preview when you are ready to act.
Link previews give channel readers context before they commit to opening the modal or App Home surface.
Act on work you find in a list or link
- Open the row or unfurled link for the item you need.
- Use the action that matches the state shown, such as opening review for pending approval or following a retry path for a failed step.
- Return to the list or channel after the action and confirm the row or preview updated.
Success criteria
You know the flow worked when:
- List rows match the item state you see in App Home or the Workflow work center for the same brand
- Shared links unfurl with current status instead of a bare URL
- After you act on an item, the list row or link preview reflects the new state, such as approved, assigned, changes requested, or completed
Troubleshooting
A list is missing
Ask a workspace admin to confirm Lists provisioning for the brand. You can still open the same records from App Home or run /social to search from the command palette.
Rows look out of date
Refresh the list in Slack and compare one row to App Home for the same item. If they still disagree, open the item from App Home and complete the pending action there.
Link previews show no status
Confirm the URL is a Slash Social work link for your workspace. Repost the link in a channel where unfurling is allowed. Open the record from App Home if the preview stays bare.
You need another entry point
Channel cards, App Home, and public slash commands remain available when Lists are off. See Slash commands reference for supported commands.
