App Home is not refreshing
Diagnose and recover when app home is not refreshing needs attention.
Use this guide when App Home shows old counts, missing cards, or a blank screen after you complete an action elsewhere in Slash Social.
Symptoms
You notice one or more of these on the Slash Social Home tab:
- Counts for drafts, approvals, failures, or inbox items look stale.
- A card you expect after creating, approving, or publishing does not appear.
- The Home tab is blank or frozen while other Slack tabs work normally.
- You switched brands or work centers but the header or cards did not update.
- A card still reflects a job that should have finished (generation, publishing, or inbox sync).
You need access to Slash Social in the affected workspace. Some fixes require a workspace owner, brand manager, or support when permissions block the action you just took.
Likely causes
- Slack cached an older Home tab render.
- You changed brands or work centers but Home did not reload yet.
- The last action failed before App Home could update, so counts never changed.
- You opened Home before a background job finished (generation, publish, or inbox sync).
- You are viewing the wrong work center (for example Plan when you expected a Create card).
- In a multi-brand workspace, Home is still scoped to a different active brand.
Checks
- Note the active brand in the App Home header.
- Compare counts on Home with Workflow, Create, or Plan for the same brand.
- Confirm whether the action you just took returned success in a modal or message. A failed save, generation, or publish leaves Home unchanged.
- Check which work center Home is showing. Switch work centers if you expected a card from another section.
- Switch to another Slack tab and return to Slash Social Home to see if Slack serves a cached view.
- If the card tracks generation or publishing, wait for the job to reach a saved, queued, pending approval, or failed state before you judge Home.
Fix it
- Leave Home and reopen it from Apps then Slash Social.
- Trigger a fresh render by running any action from
/social, such as opening pending approvals or the create flow. - Switch work centers on App Home when you expected a card from Create but were still viewing Plan or another center.
- Switch brands when counts look wrong in a multi-brand workspace, then reopen Home.
- Wait for job completion when the card tracks generation, publishing, or inbox sync, then reopen Home.
- Retry the underlying action if the modal or message reported an error. Home only reflects successful state changes.
Confirm the fix
Cards and counts match the brand and role you expect. Buttons on Home open the matching modal or list. After you complete a new action, Home updates within a few seconds of success.
Prevent it next time
- Reopen Home after long background jobs instead of leaving the tab open during generation or publishing.
- Confirm the active brand in the header before you compare counts across work centers.
- Switch work centers explicitly when you move between Create, Plan, and Workflow tasks.
- Note success or error feedback in modals before you return to Home to check results.
Contact support
Escalate when Home stays blank or frozen after reopening, brand switches, work center switches, and a successful action from /social. Send support the workspace name, active brand, Slack client (desktop or mobile), which Home section failed to update, and the last action you completed before the stale view appeared.
