Work centers

Current work centers facts for Slash Social.

Overview

Work centers group Slack App Home cards and /social tasks by job type. Switch work centers to move between create, calendar, approvals, engage, insights, and settings without leaving Slack.

What it includes

Primary work centers (App Home tabs)

These six centers appear in Switch work center on App Home:

Work centerWhat you do here
CreateDrafts, AI generation, ideas, media, templates, and libraries
CalendarCalendars, queues, scheduling, gap fill, recurring posts, cadence
ApprovalsApprovals, assignments, routing, review reasons, production coordination
EngageComments, DMs, mentions, alerts, and assigned engagement work
InsightsAnalytics dashboards, reports, learning, competitive tracking, exports
SettingsAccounts, brands, roles, billing, cadence, CTAs, and governance

Each center shows cards filtered by your role, plan, and active brand. Counts on buttons (for example failed jobs or pending approvals) use the same scope as the list opened when you click.

Contextual work centers

These labels group related work but are not always a separate App Home tab:

LabelPurpose
PlanPlanning and calendar scheduling work (same area as Calendar)
WorkflowApproval and review coordination (same area as Approvals)
InboxInbound comments and DMs (same area as Engage)
OnboardingFirst-run activation checklist and setup milestones
SupportHelp articles and recovery flows on the website

How to use it

  • Use Switch work center on App Home to move between the six primary centers.
  • Open Today for a pinned dashboard of cards you open most often; it is not a separate work center.
  • Type /social and search when you know the task name but not which center owns it.
  • Follow deep links from notifications when you need one center for a single visit; they may not change your saved preference.

Content cards in Create, Calendar, Approvals, Engage, and Insights respect the active brand. Billing, org limits, and some governance cards stay at the organization level. If a center looks empty, confirm the active brand before assuming there is no work.

Details

Primary centers map to the main App Home tabs. Contextual labels such as Plan, Workflow, and Inbox describe the same work areas under names you may see in notifications, routing, or help articles.
