Brand mention alerts
Review current brand mention alerts behavior, availability, limits, and operating details for Slash Social.
What it includes
Brand mention alerts route matches from the retained launch sources into response or follow-up work inside Slack: bounded exact-term search of recent X posts and connected-account or owned mentions and comments delivered to the Inbox. They do not search arbitrary public profiles or posts across networks. The feature lives in the Insights work center and is available to admins, creators, and approvers on eligible plans.
How to use it
Plan access: Included on Team. Not included on Free or Starter. Brand mention monitoring ships with social listening on eligible plans. See Plan comparison and Usage limits.
Setup and review:
- Ask an admin to configure listening keywords that include your brand handle or name. See Social listening for the setup path.
- Review matches from listening alerts in Slack when your role has access.
- Open matched threads from the inbox when alerts create or link conversations.
What alerts cover: A keyword monitor searches recent X posts for the exact configured term. Connected-account mentions and comments can also create owned Inbox work through their provider-specific connections, but the keyword does not launch a public search on those providers. Alerts respect the same trigger options as listening setup, including negative sentiment and high-reach thresholds where the retained source supplies those signals.
Typical response path:
- Open the alert or inbox thread for the mention.
- Reply from the inbox flow when a public response is appropriate.
- Dismiss the alert when no action is needed.
How alerts are sent: After listening matches are analyzed, Slash Social checks alert triggers and sends Slack notifications when conditions you configured are met.
Who can use it: Admins, creators, and approvers on eligible plans with access to listening and inbox surfaces for the brand.
The bounded X search returns recent matching post data. Connected-account providers separately return owned comments, mentions, and messages where the account grant and provider API support them.
How to confirm it is working: An exact test term present in recent X search should appear as a listening alert. Connected-account activity should be tested through that provider’s Inbox connection, not treated as keyword-search proof.
