Configure learning and optimization
Follow the configure learning and optimization workflow in Slack.
Goal
Tune learning settings, optimization goals, and content fatigue responses when you want Slash Social to adapt posting behavior from performance data.
When to use this
Use this workflow when you onboard a brand onto learning, change optimization goals after a strategy shift, or respond to content fatigue alerts. Workspace admins run these steps because learning home and optimization surfaces require admin access and advanced analytics.
Before you begin
Learning and optimization settings require the Team plan or higher. Only workspace admins can open the learning home modal. Select the active brand first so wizard and optimization changes apply to the correct brand.
Optimization surfaces gate behind advanced analytics access. Confirm your plan in Plan comparison before you start.
Steps
Open learning settings
- Open
/socialand search for learning in the command palette. - Run the learning action to open the learning home modal for the active brand.
- Review the current settings on the home summary.
The learning command checks admin role, brand presence, and trigger context before it opens the modal.
Run the learning wizard
- From learning home, open the setup wizard.
- Step through wizard pages and fill required fields on each step.
- Use Next on each step to merge state until you reach the final step.
- On the final step, submit to save the learning settings your plan allows.
The wizard validates required fields and experimentation holdout and ramp ranges on the last step.
Adjust optimization settings
- From learning home or Insights, open Optimization settings when the action is available.
- Update the optimization goal in the optimization settings modal.
- Submit to save the goal for the active brand.
Adjust AI tone settings
- Open AI tone settings from learning home when you need min or max post constraints for tone learning.
- Update fields in the AI tone settings modal.
- Submit after validation passes.
Respond to content fatigue alerts
When a content fatigue alert card appears:
- Choose Generate ideas to open fresh idea suggestions in the ideas modal.
- Choose Snooze when the alert should hide for now.
- From analytics, use resurface actions when you want to bring strong content to another platform: select the target platform, then confirm resurface to the chosen platform when a connected account is available.
Reopen learning home after changes
After any wizard, optimization, or tone submit, return to learning home from /social to confirm the summary reflects your latest settings. The home modal is the anchor for all learning surfaces on the brand.
Confirm it worked
Saved wizard settings appear on the learning home summary. Optimization goal updates persist when you reopen Optimization settings. Snoozed fatigue alerts stop prompting until the snooze window ends. Submitted tone settings remain on reopen of AI tone settings.
Troubleshooting
Learning home does not open
Only workspace admins can open learning home. Confirm you have admin access for the workspace. Non-admins should ask an admin to run this workflow.
Upgrade or access denied on optimization actions
Learning optimization gates behind advanced analytics on the Team plan or higher. Confirm your plan in Plan comparison.
Wizard submit fails on the final step
Re-read validation on step 4. Required fields and holdout or ramp ranges must be in allowed bounds before submit succeeds.
Wrong brand on learning home
Select the correct active brand in App Home, then reopen the learning action from /social.
Fatigue snooze did not stick
Wait for the snooze window to elapse before you expect the alert again. Reopen the alert card if you snoozed by mistake and need ideas sooner.
Resurface action unavailable
Confirm the destination platform has a connected account for the active brand before you select a platform in the resurface flow.
Use the dashboard timestamp to decide whether to refresh first or act on the current recommendation for this brand.
