Open the Insights dashboard

Follow the open the insights dashboard workflow in Slack.

Goal

Review brand performance from App Home or the command palette when you need reach, engagement, and post-level metrics for a chosen timeframe.

When to use this

Open the Insights dashboard for weekly performance checks, post-mortems after a campaign, or quick answers before you change cadence or content mix. Use it when you need more than the daily briefing signals in App Home and want timeframe controls, refresh, and export.

Before you begin

Full advanced analytics dashboards require the Team plan or higher. All plans include daily briefing signals in App Home. Select the active brand before you open analytics so metrics match the brand you manage.

If you are unsure which plan you have, see Plan comparison.

Steps

Open analytics from App Home

  1. Open /social and switch to the Insights work center.
  2. Choose Dashboard in Insights, or search for Open Analytics or View Dashboard in the command palette.
  3. Pick a timeframe such as last 7 or 30 days when the flow asks for a range.
  4. Use refresh or timeframe buttons on the dashboard to update the view. Period choices include 24h, 7d, and 30d when the flow offers them.

Open dashboard from the command palette

  1. Open /social.
  2. Search for dashboard or analytics.
  3. Run the Insights dashboard action. Choose 24h, 7d, or 30d when prompted for a period.

Use quick analytics

From Insights or the command palette, open quick analytics when you need a lighter summary modal before you open the full dashboard.

Change timeframe or refresh

On the dashboard or analytics modal, use timeframe actions to switch periods. Choose refresh when you want the latest synced metrics without reopening the flow.

Open post detail

From dashboard rows, open post detail when you need metrics and context for a single published post.

Export analytics

  1. From Insights, choose Export Data (or the export action on the analytics modal when available).
  2. Pick the date range, platforms, sections, and delivery destination.
  3. Submit the export. Slash Social queues a ZIP of CSV files and delivers it to the Slack destination you selected.

Use dashboard overflow actions

When the dashboard shows an overflow menu, open it for extra actions such as toggling publishing hold or opening related surfaces without leaving the current view. Overflow actions keep context from the dashboard you already have open.

Review decision-ready recommendations

From Insights home, open recommendation cards when they appear. Each card shows evidence lines and a primary action you can run when you want to act on a planning gap, format shift, or similar signal without opening the full dashboard first.

Confirm it worked

Metrics appear for posts that have published long enough for platforms to return data. After you change timeframe or refresh, KPI blocks and charts update for the selected period. A successful export delivers a ZIP to the Slack destination you chose.

Empty sections usually mean the timeframe is too short, the brand has no published posts in range, or platform sync has not finished.

Troubleshooting

Dashboard action is missing or shows an upgrade prompt

Advanced analytics requires the Team plan or higher. Confirm your plan in Plan comparison.

Wrong brand on the dashboard

Select the correct active brand in App Home, then reopen the dashboard action from /social.

Invalid period message

When the flow asks for a period, choose 24h, 7d, or 30d. Other values are rejected with validation guidance.

Sections are empty after publish

Allow time for platforms to return analytics. Widen the timeframe to 7d or 30d and refresh. For a first read, follow Read your first analytics report.

Export never arrives

Confirm the Slack destination can receive files from the app. Retry export after refresh. Check that you selected at least one platform and section in the export modal.

No brands modal appears

Connect at least one social account and confirm the brand is active before you open analytics.
