Capture ideas in a Slack List

Review current capture ideas in a slack list behavior, availability, limits, and operating details for Slash Social.

Slack Lists ideas backlog lets your team capture content ideas in a native Slack List while keeping each row linked to the social workflow in Slash Social.

Availability

  • Plan: Free and above
  • Work center: Workflow (Slack Lists)
  • Requires: Slack Lists access in the workspace, an installed app, and an Ideas list provisioned for the brand.

List columns

The Ideas list includes:

  • Idea (primary text)
  • Notes
  • Platform (select)
  • Suggested Pillar (select, from brand pillars)
  • Status (for example New, Accepted, Dismissed)
  • Submitted by

How intake works

  1. Add or edit a row in the brand Ideas list.
  2. Enter text in Idea and set Status to New or Accepted (or leave status empty on a new row).
  3. Slash Social creates a shared content idea linked to that row.
  4. Slash Social records the row-to-idea link and leaves the status as New unless your team changes it later.

Rows without idea text are skipped. The placeholder row titled Slash Social — Ideas backlog is ignored.

Sync timing

New rows are picked up on a list sync cycle. In normal conditions this is usually within about a minute. If live sync is delayed, intake may take up to about 15 minutes. You can still capture ideas from App Home, /social, or bot DM while you wait.

Verification

Add a row with idea text and the intake status. Confirm the row links to a content idea and that the same idea appears in Create workflows for the brand.
