Confirm erase or disconnect-all actions
Follow the confirm erase or disconnect-all actions workflow in Slack.
Goal
Confirm before permanently erasing content or disconnecting every social profile in the organization. Both flows use explicit confirmation steps so accidental clicks do not delete data or stop publishing without warning.
When to use this
Use the erase confirmation flow when you must permanently remove a single post (item) or an entire campaign and all of its items. Typical cases include removing a draft that should never publish, clearing a test campaign, or retiring content that no longer matches brand guidelines.
Use disconnect all when you are deprovisioning the organization, rotating credentials workspace-wide, or intentionally stopping all publishing until accounts are reconnected. This is an organization-wide action: every connected social profile is affected, including profiles for brands beyond the active one.
These actions cannot be undone from Slack after confirmation. Plan your target before opening either flow. Take a moment to copy the item or campaign id and note who requested the deletion.
Before you begin
You need permission to delete content or manage connected accounts for the organization.
For erase, have the item id or campaign id ready. You can copy ids from Plan, approvals, or item detail surfaces in App Home.
For disconnect all, warn teammates that publishing will stop until accounts are reconnected individually. Scheduled posts will not publish while profiles are disconnected.
Steps
Erase an item or campaign
- Open App Home or the Command Palette and start the erase action for the target type (post or campaign).
- Provide the target id when prompted, for example an item id or campaign id.
- Read the erase confirmation modal carefully. Campaign erase removes all items in the campaign. Scheduled items in that campaign are unscheduled first.
- Type
ERASEexactly in the confirmation field. - Submit.
Wrong or missing confirmation text keeps the modal open with a field error on the confirmation field. Malformed arguments return usage guidance in Slack instead of opening the modal.
Item erase removes one content item and its platform targets. Campaign erase is broader: every item in the campaign is removed after scheduled work is cleared.
The confirmation modal summarizes what will be deleted. Read the summary line before typing ERASE. If the id does not match what you expect, cancel and reopen the flow with the correct id.
Queued and scheduled items follow different cleanup paths inside the erase flow. Scheduled items in a campaign are unscheduled before deletion so nothing publishes after you confirm.
Disconnect all accounts
- Type
/socialand choose Settings. - Open Connected Accounts.
- Open the account management menu.
- Choose Disconnect all accounts.
Slack shows All Accounts Disconnected in a success modal after the action completes. This disconnects every social profile in the organization. Publishing stops until accounts are reconnected.
The account management menu groups destructive actions away from single-account reconnect and disconnect controls. Disconnect all accounts is distinct from disconnecting one profile on a row.
Confirm it worked
After erase, the item or campaign no longer appears in Plan, Create history, or pending approvals. Search App Home work centers for the id to confirm it is gone.
After disconnect all, Connected Accounts shows no connected profiles. App Home reflects disconnected status for publishing surfaces. Attempting to schedule or publish should surface a reconnect prompt rather than a successful publish.
Troubleshooting
Erase modal does not open. Confirm you used a valid target type and id. Malformed input returns usage guidance in Slack. Copy the id from the item or campaign detail rather than typing from memory.
Confirmation field rejects your input. The phrase must be ERASE in all caps with no extra spaces. The modal stays open until the phrase matches exactly.
You erased the wrong target. Erased content cannot be restored from Slack. Contact support with the item or campaign id and the time of the erase.
Disconnect all success modal did not appear. Reopen Connected Accounts. If profiles still show connected, run Disconnect all accounts again from the account management menu.
Publishing fails after disconnect all. Reconnect accounts individually from Connected Accounts. Each platform requires its own OAuth completion. See Connect social accounts for the full connection workflow.
Teammates still see old items after campaign erase. Ask them to refresh App Home. Cached work items clear on the next App Home load.
Erase action is not listed in your Command Palette. You need delete permission for the organization. Ask an admin to run the erase flow or grant the appropriate role.
Partial disconnect after disconnect all. Reopen Connected Accounts. Any profile still showing connected status can be disconnected individually from the same management modal before reconnecting.
