Publishing operations

Review current publishing operations behavior, availability, limits, and operating details for Slash Social.

Publishing operations queue approved work for delivery, apply scheduling rules, and surface recovery paths when a platform rejects a post or a job fails.

What it includes

Publishing operations span the Plan work center and content surfaces across App Home, create modals, channel posts, and app messages. Admins, creators, and approvers use it to move approved items into scheduled slots and to recover failed work.

Core responsibilities:

  • Place approved items on the Plan queue, calendar, and weekly planning view after review
  • Schedule posts according to cadence windows and brand timezone rules
  • Run pre-send checks such as account connection status, format constraints, and approval state
  • Deliver posts to connected social accounts and record platform responses
  • Recover failed publish or generation jobs from Plan and Create surfaces

Screenshots on this page show creating a scheduled post and checking queue readiness before posts go live.

For monthly scheduled-post caps and other limits, see Usage limits. To compare feature access by plan, see Plan comparison and Feature modes.

How to use it

  1. Approve content from Workflow or an approval modal, then confirm the item appears in Plan queue or calendar with the expected local time.
  2. Use Plan to review the queue, open slot detail from the weekly planning view, or adjust timing when reschedule actions are available.
  3. If publish or generation fails, open Create content issues or failed-job surfaces, or type /social and search for retry or failed to recover stuck work.
  4. Fix the underlying issue (for example reconnect a profile), then retry from the failed-job surface.

Smart reschedule actions can suggest alternative slots when timing conflicts with cadence or platform rules.
