Permissions and personas
Current permissions and personas facts for Slash Social.
Overview
Roles decide what a teammate may change. Personas decide what each user sees on App Home for the active brand. Plan entitlements are separate from roles.
Slash Social uses two related role sets:
| Role set | Values | Used for |
|---|---|---|
| Brand member roles | Owner, manager, creator, viewer | Invites, team setup, App Home behavior |
| Governance roles | Admin, owner, reviewer, publisher, manager, viewer | Approval, publishing, audit, routing, settings |
What it includes
Roles attach to organization, brand, pillar, or campaign entities:
| Entity | Examples of what scoped roles control |
|---|---|
| Organization | Billing, org-wide settings, global CTAs, role administration |
| Brand | Brand content, brand-scoped reviewers, brand audit visibility |
| Pillar | Theme-specific routing, pillar CTAs, pillar owners |
| Campaign | Launch CTAs, campaign cadence overrides, campaign publishers |
| Role | Typical responsibilities |
|---|---|
| Admin | Full org access (inherits all permission checks) |
| Owner | Manage settings, approve, create, publish (scope depends on entity) |
| Manager | Review coordination, analytics, review labels |
| Reviewer | Approve or request changes on assigned content |
| Publisher | Publish approved content (governance role) |
| Creator | Create and edit drafts for the active brand (brand member role) |
| Viewer | Read-only access to assigned scope |
Billing owner is not a separate role row; billing owners get billing management and some audit export rights through ownership checks.
One primary persona drives card ordering per session; capabilities can combine (for example approver plus creator).
| Persona | Shown when | Typical App Home emphasis |
|---|---|---|
| Owner | Admin, brand owner, or billing owner on the active brand | Settings, billing, brand management |
| Approver | Reviewer or manager without owner billing context | Pending approvals, review actions |
| Creator | Brand creator, publisher, or owner with create rights | Drafts, create shortcuts, media |
| Default | Viewer or minimal roles | Read-only or limited cards |
| Capability | Meaning in Slack |
|---|---|
| Can approve | Approve, reject, or request changes on content |
| Can create | Create and edit drafts, run generation |
| Can manage brand | Brand settings, pillars, and related admin cards |
| Can manage billing | Billing plan, usage, export, and deletion requests |
| Can view admin | Admin sections on App Home and settings hubs |
| Can manage advocacy | Employee advocacy settings where enabled |
How to use it
